Snow and skiing
The Alto Sangro ski lifts are a few minutes from our homes.
From Rivisondoli the ski lifts are a few minutes' drive away. Monte Pratello is the nearest station, Aremogna and Pizzalto above Roccaraso are linked together, and the single Alto Sangro ski pass gives you more than one hundred kilometres of runs, from 1,400 metres up to 2,140 metres at Toppe del Tesoro.
Who it's for
- Beginners and children: wide nursery slopes and carpet lifts at Aremogna, ski instructors at every station.
- Intermediate skiers: Monte Pratello, with wide open spaces and long, even runs.
- Experts: the black runs at Pizzalto and Monte Pratello.
- Snowboarders: the Aremogna snowpark.
How to plan it
Buy your ski pass online in advance and start early at weekends and during the Christmas and Carnival weeks, when car parks fill up. Rental shops and ski schools are available both in the villages and at the base of the lifts.
