Cafés, pastry shops and bakeries: sweet stops between Pescocostanzo and Rivisondoli
Cinnamon pizzelle, traditional biscuits, fresh egg pasta and a good glass of wine at the end of the day: where to stop between one walk and the next.
A day in Alto Sangro has its rituals: morning coffee before the lifts, a mid-afternoon treat after a walk, a glass of wine before dinner. These are the places we like best, all with an average of at least 4.5 stars on Google at the time of writing (October 2026).
Pescocostanzo
Biscottificio Artigianale Di Giacomo. A family tradition going back a century, with everything handmade in the village workshop. Take home their pizzelle and cinnamon ferratelle, cantucci and tarts; they also make fresh egg pasta.
Pasticceria CG. Cakes and fresh egg pasta: the right stop if you want a dessert for the evening or pasta to cook at home.
Fantasie di gusto. The neighbourhood bakery, for bread and morning bakes.
Vin Café Dal Corvo. Our pick for an aperitivo: an excellent wine list, cocktails and a sausage and scamorza sandwich that is a dinner in itself.
Rivisondoli
Botton d'Oro. A pastry shop in the centre of the village, a few steps from our homes: for breakfast or a tray of pastries to bring to the table.
A tip
Artisan shops often close for lunch and one day a week, with different hours in summer and winter. If you are going specially, check first.
